The group toured from 1972 to 1974, but in 1975 became a purely studio-based act. They disbanded from 1981 through 1992 after Becker and Fagen, but have since reunited. They had two reunion tours in the summers of 1993 and 1994 and new studio releases in 2000 Two Against Nature and follow-up, 2003's Everything Must Go, with accompanying tours. In the upcoming November issue of Guitar World, Walter Becker states that Steely Dan are recording once again. The new album scheduled to arrive in spring/summer 2008 has a working title of "Suffice It To Say. . . ".

Stevesman - Steely Dan became Steeleye Span, same as Freddie Garrety from Freddie and the Dreamers re-appeared magically a few years later as Freddie Mercury in a little known band called Queen.

And anyway - I just booked a oom in Tom Cruise's alien safe bunker in case bearmaker's hero Tommy Steele ever comes back and sings about a little white bull again. Bearmaker - if we didn't shoot him back in the 60s it's possible he's still alive.........but the only place he sings is in his wheelchair in an old peoples' home

Freddie and the Dreamers disbanded in the late 1960's but between 1971 and 1973 Garrity and former Bandmate Peter Birrell appeared in the ITV children's television show Little Big Time.

After his TV career ended, Garrity formed a new version of Freddie and the Dreamers and toured regularly for the next two decades, but no further records or chart success came their way. He continued to perform until 2001 when he was diagnosed with emphysema after collapsing during a flight, thus forcing him into retirement.
