The knight had only one lead: the kidnapped princess had been wearing
her favorite evening gown: purple velvet bodice, studded with diamonds;
flaring red taffeta skirts; gold fringes. He had the King's artist paint
the gown onto a five by eight card, which the Knight could carry as a
reference and show to possible witnesses. For months the gallant Knight
was seen riding around the country side, telling everyone he met, "I'm
looking for a damsel in this dress."
