Just read an article in my local paper saying that if registered your phone numbers on the National Do Not Call list five years ago that it has expired and you have to do it again.
Don't know if its true but, why take a chance.

Yes, indeed, you have to register every five years.

You can verify when you registered, and register if need be here:

It's probably a colloquialism, now.:-)
